I have worked within the design industry as a product designer, design consultant, ceramicist and designer maker for the past 25 years. I have enjoyed a varied career, designing a variety of products for the home working in a range materials for some of the UK’s most well loved brands.

…my own self-directed work allows me the freedom to create and play with ideas, creating forms, using different patterns, textures and materials. Wave is a collection of simple modern decorative shapes that will be at home in a variety of interior settings.

I started to explore digital design technology to create forms in the late 90’s, when the technology was in its infancy within the ceramics industry and was purely used as a form of prototyping.

My current body of work is designed and 3D printed in my studio. I start by sketching ideas, with inspiration taken from natural forms and forces creating patterns in the landscape. Computer Aided Design is used to create the three dimensional file and then printed with the latest rapid manufacturing technology.

The tactile quality invites the viewer to explore and touch the decorative pieces.

Each piece is printed to order, giving them their own unique finish with a matte surface texture, using biodegradable material.
